Josephine Eskierski, 92; Parishioner of Sacred Heart Church

Josephine Eskierski, passed away on April 22, 2014, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Catonsville, MD. She was 92.

Born in Poland in 1922 to Michael and Mary Szuminski, she came to the United States in 1949 and resided in Greenwich CT.

Josephine was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish. She enjoyed spending time with her family and instilling Polish traditions to her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Eskierski and son John Eskierski Jr.

She is survived by her children, Chris Hommel of Berlin, MD, Ed Eskierski and wife Patricia of Millersville, MD, and Bob Eskierski and wife Catherine of Greenwich; grandchildren Brian Hommel and wife Charlotte with great-grandchildren Grace and Jackson; Todd Hommel and wife Peggy with great-grandchildren Owen and Regen; Dana Katzer and husband Jeffrey; Eric Hommel; Christopher and Ryan Eskierski; Paul Martin and wife Carla; and Brian Martin and several other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, on Monday, April 28 from 4 to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich, on Tuesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery on North Street, Greenwich.
