Josephine Santoro, a lifelong Greenwich resident, passed away on Feb. 18, 2014. She was 97.
She was born to Antonio and Carmela Angotto in Greenwich.
She was an active member of the River House and the Greenwich Senior Center, where she loved to sing. Mrs. Santoro retired from Thrush Press at the age of 65.
She is survived by her daughters Janice Fiore and Joanne Vermilyea; her grandchildren, Joseph Fiore, Jana Fiore, and Stephen Vermilyea and great-granddaughter Maria Fiore. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was the wife of Guernio, who died in 1988, for more than 42 years of marriage. She also was predeceased by her sisters Mary, Nellie, Rose, Angelina, and brothers Michael, Pat and Dominick.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 21, at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. Catherine's Church. Entombment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
