Nicola Catino, 93; Head Tailor at Richard's of Greenwich

Nicola P. Catino, a 42-year resident of Greenwich, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 26, 2013. He was 93.

He was born to the late Teodoro and Filomena Catino in Italy on June 29, 1920.

After working at Richard's for more than 20 years as the head tailor, He was a member of San Manghese Social Club of Stamford for more than 40 years. Nicola went on to open and run his own men's clothing business, "Catino Custom Tailors and Clothing," in the town of Greenwich for more than a decade.

Nicola is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Concetta Catino; sons Teodoro Catino of Italy and Tullio Catino of Greenwich; eight grandchildren, Nick Catino of Greenwich, Tullio Catino of Arizona, Anna Shved of Stamford, Patrica Catino of Greenwich, Cindy Catino of Virginia, Nicole Ross of California, Lisa Catino of Washington and Connie Seo of Easton, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, on Friday, Nov. 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at St. Roch Parish. Entombment will follow the Mass in Putnam Cemetery.
