Obituary: Freida Murano, Avid Golfer, Glenville Seniors Member

Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday afternoon with funeral services set for Monday, June 24.


Freida Murano of Greenwich passed away at home on June 19, 2013 after a five-year struggle with Parkinson's disease. She was 90.

She was born in Port Chester on July 7, 1922 to the late Christina and  Charles Repaci.

Mrs. Murano was an avid golfer and an active member in the Glenville seniors club and the Knights of Columbus with her husband of 67 years, Louis N. Murano. She also loved to travel throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Australia.

She worked as a secretary to the Greenwich Federal President and held positions in real estate, banking and importing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister Mary,; her son Louis Richard (Mary Ann) and her granddaughter Monica Murano Robinson (Glenn Avery) and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Catherine and Martha and a brother, Anthony.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday June 23, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 24, at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in Byram. Internment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to The National Parkinson's Foundation, 10 Union Square East, New York, NY 10003, or to Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich, CT, 06830.
