Obituary: Josephine C. Palastro, 87; Retired Accountant, Secretary

Josephine Calabro Palastro, a native of Greenwich, died peacefully on Aug. 10, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Josephine was born in Greenwich on Dec. 26, 1925 to the late Pasquale and Angelina Calabro.

Josephine was raised and educated in Greenwich. She worked in for many years as a secretary and an accountant. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had zest for life and enjoyed it to the fullest with her family and friends. Jo enjoyed many activities, including gardening, reading and animals. She was a member of the Byram Garden club.

Josephine is survived by her devoted children David F. Palastro and his wife Laurie Palastro of Greenwich, and Carol Mandras and her husband Peter Mandras of Stamford. She also is survived by her five grandchildren, Matthew Palastro, Nicholas Palastro, and Katherine Palastro of Greenwich, Nicole Mandras of Stamford, and Alison Versaggi and her husband Ross Versaggi of Stamford. She is survived by her precious great-grandson Ryan Peter Versaggi of Stamford, and her brother John A. Calabro and wife Deana Calabro of Milford, and several loving nieces and nephews.

Josephine was predeceased by her loving husband Frank J. Palastro, her brother Patrick Calabro, and her sister Nancy Gardner.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich. Internment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich.
