Obituary: Raymond Chila, Retired Pitney Bowes Employee, Avid Golfer

Calling hours are scheduled for Thursday with the funeral set for June 28.


Raymond L. Chila, a retired Pitney Bowes employee, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He was 74.

He was born in Port Chester, NY, on April 22, 1939, to the late Anthony and Mary Chila.

Mr. Chila worked at Pitney Bowes for 44 years, where he also served as Vice President of the PBEA. In his retirement he worked as a golf ranger at Burning Tree Country Club. Ray was an avid golfer along with coaching Junior Babe Ruth and umpiring Little League in the town of Greenwich.

Mr. Chila is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marion Chila; his sister Rose Genovese of Florida; his two daughters, Wendy Rebello (Christopher) and Lisa Millette-Valentine (Brian) both of Darien, and three grandchildren Connor, Samantha, and Colin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers John and Peter Chila. 

Family and friends are invited to visit at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 27. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, at St. Catherine of Siena, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich.
