Patricia Risher, 75; Indian Harbor Yacht Club Member

Calling hours are set for Sunday, July 20 with a memorial service to be held on Monday, July 21.

From Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home.

Patricia Munro Risher, 75, of Stamford, passed away on July 14, 2014 after a battle with cancer.

She was born to the late Marion and Frances Cameron Munro on Sept. 24, 1938 in Dallas, TX.

She graduated from Beaumont High School in Beaumont, TX, and went on to Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated in 1960 with a degree in Merchandising.

After graduating, she remained in Dallas, working as a leading Junior Sportswear Buyer for Titches Department store. It was in Dallas in 1960 that she met her future husband, Paul D. Risher, who was then residing there. Later, he moved to New York City, and they were married there in 1965. In 1966, they moved out of the city to Stamford, where they lived and raised their family.

She was an active member of the community who enjoyed traveling the world, not only with her husband, but also with the Westhill Chamber Singers and volunteering with the Junior Leagues of Stamford-Norwalk and New York City. She had a lifelong love of Broadway, regional theater, music and the arts. Most recently, since her husband is the current Commodore of Indian Harbor Yacht Club in Greenwich, she has enjoyed her meaningful role as his wife, preferring to be thought of as the Commodore's Lady.

In addition to her husband of 49 years, she is survived by a daughter, Nancy Ward and her husband, Bill of Wilton; a daughter, Cameron Risher of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jackson and Parker Ward of Wilton; a brother, W. Barton Munro of College Station, TX and a sister, Mary Sue Munro.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 20, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich. A memorial service will be held on July 21, at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, 1101 Bedford St., Stamford. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court, Westport, CT 06880.
