Robert 'Bobo' D'Elia; 63; Greenwich Native Who Worked at Many Local Restaurants

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 31.

Robert "Bobo" D'Elia, of Greenwich, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital, after a long illness. He was 63.

Born in, and a lifelong resident of, Greenwich, he was the son of Marie Bologna D'Elia and the late Joseph D'Elia.

Bob was a graduate of Greenwich High School and the University of Arizona. He was a friendly face in many local establishments, where he was employed as bar manager, including The Beach House Cafe, Boxing Cat Grill, River Cat Grill, Thataways and Black Sheep Restaurant. Bob enjoyed music, sports, being on the water in his boat and spending time with friends and family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Joseph D'Elia, of Stamford; sister, Joy D'Elia, her husband, Tommy Bledsoe and nieces, Delia and Rosa Bledsoe, of St. Augustine, FL; aunts, Tilda Fico and Josephine Tripodi, an uncle, Dr. Ralph Bologna and his wife, Sheila, of Greenwich, along with numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 31, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
