Steven M. Kompar, 24, Film Company Employee, Musician

Steven M. Kompar, 24, a Greenwich native involved in theater and music, passed away on Jan. 24, 2013.

He was born March 22, 1988 in Greenwich to Michael and Frances (Forte) Kompar.

Steven had a passion for technical theater, played the viola, and was a member of the film company, Niente Peaches. A great admirer of Clint Eastwood, he recently co-wrote a new Western with his friends at Niente Peaches. He was a skilled cook and made sure everyone was well fed and satisfied. Steven was a creative soul who enjoyed nature walks and long drives. He had a great sense of humor coupled with a sharp wit, gave the best hugs, and was loving, caring, and kind-hearted.

Steven is survived by his loving parents Michael and Frances; his sister Christina Kompar; his grandmother Rosina Forte; his aunt Roseanne Sanford, his uncles Al Forte and John Kompar (Adele); cousins Giulia Sanford Alley (David), Amelia Sanford, Mark E. Sanford, Paul Forte, Victoria Forte, Marisa Kompar Oates (Richard), John Kompar Jr., Alicia Kompar, Christopher Kompar and numerous other cousins, great aunts and great uncles, including many family members overseas in Hungary and Italy.

He was predeceased by his godfather Mark Sanford and grandparents Paul Forte, Michael Kompar Sr., and Eva Kompar.


Family and friends may visit at the Castiglione Funeral Home, Inc., 134 Hamilton Ave. in Greenwich from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan, 30 at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich. Entombment will follow in Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich.
