Conneticut Tax free Week - This week through Saturday, August 27th, Connecticut shoppers will enjoy a 'tax-free' holiday.
During this tax free week, Connecticut shoppers will not pay sales and use taxes on any clothing or footwear costing less than $300 per item. The exemption also applies to exchanges, rain checks, rentals, and certain internet purchases of clothing and shoes. Check the DRS website at www.ct.gov/drs for more details and information.
This year, tax-free week is more beneficial than ever as we all cope with the increases in income and sales taxes as well as the elimination of the tax exemption on clothing costing less than $50.
