Letter: A Neighbor to Neighbor Thank You

By Margie Black and Denise Dreskin

Dear Neighbors,

On behalf of Neighbor to Neighbor and our clients, we want to thank the community for helping to make the first-ever Greenwich Canstruction a great success.  Nine teams designed and built sculptures made of canned goods, raising $76,000 for our food pantry and clothing room. Additionally, more than 21,000 cans were donated, valued at $27,000. This would not have been possible without the efforts of our community partners – architects, youth groups, First Presbyterian Church, the generous support of local businesses, and our sponsors and supporters.

Neighbor to Neighbor has been providing food, clothing and basic living essentials to Greenwich residents in need for over 35 years. With more than 530 families now eligible to receive food, the canned goods amassed at Canstruction have already been distributed.  As the holiday season comes and goes, please remember that hunger exists year-round in Greenwich.
