Letter: McMahon Action 'Not Worthy of a Senator'

By Judy Berg

I opened the Voter's Guide 2012 prepared by the League of Women Voters  and found that there was nothing written next to Linda McMahon's picture except "no response received." The League is non partisan and encourages informed voting.  Either Linda McMahon and her large staff chose not to inform the public of her views or they forgot to submit the information.  Either way I conclude that this behavior is not worthy of a Senator from Connecticut.

Let's see . . . . career politician Murphy or businesswoman McMahon. Who would help more on jobs and the economy? Oh well, the important thing is whether she responded to one question.

I noticed this lack of comment as well and figured her team dropped the ball. But that isn't reason enough not to vote for her - there are plenty more :)

Running a business does not automatically qualify somebody as being superior to developing and implementing public policy. I'm waiting for the evidence that demonstrates the validity of the hypothesis. Also, if Republicans are so dismissive and hateful of public service, maybe they should stay in the private sector. After all, would you rather have somebody in government who is passionate about serving the public, or somebody who hates the idea of government "for the people" -- like Romney who believes FEMA and disaster recovery should be outsourced to private companies.
