To the editor:

We at Neighbor to Neighbor are saddened to hear of the closing of Porricelli’s Market in Trumbull on Saturday and wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to the Porricelli family.

For many years, first in Greenwich and later in Trumbull, Porricelli’s Market provided Neighbor to Neighbor with staples for our food pantry at deeply discounted prices.  The generosity and support Porricelli’s  Market has allowed us to provide 300,000 free meals annually to Greenwich residents in need.

We improve lives by providing for the exchange of food, clothing and basic living essentials in an atmosphere of kindness and respect.  In addition to being one of our most strident  “community partners,” Porricelli’s Market employees and the Porricelli family have been gracious and professional in all of our dealings with them.

We wish the Porricellis every success in their future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Nancy Coughlin, Executive Director
