State Rep. Camillo Thanks Those Who Developed Pet Evacuation Plan

This letter to the editor was submitted by State Rep. Fred Camillo (R-151) and posted by local editor Barbara Heins.

To the editor:
With the hurricane season just around the corner, I am grateful that our town's leaders worked together to make sure that in addition to sheltering people during extreme weather events, our pets, too, will not be left behind.

This would not have been done without caring residents like Sherry Wernicke, Leora Levy, and Kerrin Coyle, Linda Bruno, Ross Ogden of the Red Cross, and the many others who worked several months to make this a reality.

Special thanks, also, goes to First Selectman Peter Tesei and our wonderful town employees who all made this a priority and were proactive, responsive, and open-minded during the whole process. We should be proud of the aforementioned people, and even prouder to live in such a compassionate and responsible town.

Fred Camillo
State Representative
151st District-CT
