Singing And Your Personal Health & Wealth

Pamela Kuhn, a professional opera singer, brings her lifelong passions for music and healing to the nonprofit Angel Choir, where everybody is invited to raise their voices together in song.

I am a singer. I have known the joy of performing onstage and I revel in the rewards that singing can bring to me. In short, it is my life energy.

But everyone can own that same joy. As a vocal teacher and speech professional, I know that most of you are longing to be able to use your voices better. I also know that some of you are closet performers, whether inching towards the karaoke machines or singing in the shower. And I have seen those who are hesitating in front of the advertisement that says “Singers Wanted” only to turn away with resignation when seeing the small print that says “Audition Required”.

I am a champion of all of you. I know that everyone can sing but more than that I know the real health and wealth that can be born from learning to use your voice for personal fulfillment and finding the riches of creative spirit in the journey.

And for those who have secretly cherished the idea of camaraderie while making music there is a venue for you in Greenwich. It is called the Angel Choir where all are invited to sing and all you need to bring is your voice and enthusiasm. And what we can give back is encouragement, confidence in music making and my personal promise that I can help you find your honest voice.

The Angel Choir was formed as a 501(c) charitable group with the mission of providing a haven for cancer patients, survivors, their friends and families and anyone who would like to come together to sing to revivify their spirit. The group embraces the idea that all of us have the right to create and all who come to sing with us will be welcomed and encouraged. I cherish the process of empowering singers through use of proper vocal technique and teaching the fascinating background of the pieces that we perform.

Each month I formulate a different theme, we rehearse the music that is handed out and we end with a short performance of what we have rehearsed. And yes, YOU can do this! Take a moment, imagine your own private club where you are the celebrated performer that you have wanted to become and know that it is steps away with the Angel Choir!

Visit our website at www.angelchoir.org and see what we are about. Learn about singing with the singing group that is all about making YOU feel good! You have my promise that you will laugh, strengthen your singing skills and learn about and be brought inside the music that we are performing. Within the camaraderie of helping others you will walk away with your renewed personal health and wealth.

The Angel Choir meets the first Sunday of each month. You are invited to meet with the Angel Choir this Sunday afternoon, April 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Greenwich Arts Center, Second Floor, 299 Greenwich Avenue.
