Darien YMCA Opens November 1st to Community

I am thrilled to report that the Darien YMCA just got our power restored, and we plan to re-open tomorrow morning at 6:30 a.m. Virtually all of our programs will be up and running on Thursday including: Fitness classes, Personal Training, Aquatic classes, Pirana Swim Team workout, Gymnastic classes and Gymnastic teams practices. In addition, our childcare services will be open for parents who want to work out. Holly Pond nursery school, however, will re-open at the same time The Darien Public Schools do.

The Darien Y will be open to all residents of Darien during the power outage who want to use our facility for a hot shower, to charge battery operated devices or simply as a place to spend time among fellow residents. We appreciate your understanding during this exceptional time

Although many of us have endured hardships and inconveniences in the past few days, I believe we have so much to be grateful for, not the least of which is a wonderful community facility like the Darien YMCA.

I was very grateful to arrive at the Y this morning to a welcoming and kind staff who ushered me to the brand new Women's locker room for a hot shower. Thank you Darien Y!
