2 Charged in Separate Domestic Violence Cases

Arrests stem from weekend incidents in Greenwich.

A  72-year-old downtown Greenwich man was charged with disorderly conduct stemming from a domestic violence incident in which the victim was verbally abused.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the suspect "was extremely intoxicated and had been verbally abusive towards the victim. At one point slapped her in the stomach and twisted her wrist."

Robert Z. Jay of 249 Milbank Ave., was arrested in connection with the June 9 incident shortly after 9 p.m. He was held in lieu of $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear June 11 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 49-year-old Charles Street man was arrested on a third-degree assault charge following an argument that escalated into a physical altercation with a family member.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the victim was struck multiple times in the face. The suspect was held in lieu of $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear June 11 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

An evading responsibility charge was lodged against a town woman who Greenwich Police say struck a dog and left the scene of the June 7 incident on Meadowcroft Lane.

Shari G. Lampert, 54, of 31 Meadowcroft Ln., Greenwich, was arrested for incident. She was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear June 14 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
