2 Face DWI Charges

Two motorists stopped by Greenwich Police are facing multiple motor vehicle charges.

 

Two motorists are facing multiple motor vehicle charges—including driving w hile intoxicated—after they were stopped by Greenwich Police

According to a police report, Victor O. Castro, 23, of 63 Houston Terr., Stamford, was stopped at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 21 after he was observed travelling at double the speed limit on West Putnam Avenue and crossing the double yellow line. He had an odor alcohol, glassy eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet, according to the report.

Castro, who failed field sobriety tests, was charged with speeding, failure to drive in proper lane, operating without a license and driving while intoxicated, according to the report. He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear March 6 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

In the second incident, a Greenwich resident was stopped by police after he was observed "weaving between lanes" at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 26 on Delavan Avenue.

According to a police report, Segundo Chuchuca, 48, of 10 Ann St., Greenwich, is accused of having glassy, bloodshot eyes, and an odor of alcohol. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain proper lane, failure to drive right and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Chuchuca posted a $250 bond and was scheduled to appear March 4 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
