2 Face DWI Charges in Separate Greenwich Incidents

One suspect arrested at 9:45 a.m.

Two motorists were arrested on driving while intoxicated charges by Greenwich Police including a New City, NY man who was charged at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday.

According to a Greenwich Police report, police and Greenwich Emergency Medical Service (GEMS) responded to a report of a single-car crash at Lake Avenue and Close Road and that the driver was outside the car laying in the snow.

GEMS personnel found the driver who they reported "was uninjured and attempting to refuse medical attention," according to the report. Police said they determined the driver, identified as John R. King, 48, "was intoxicated and possibly under the influence of sleep medication, which was located within the vehicle."

King, who gave an address of 40 York Dr., New City, NY, was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was released on a $250 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 6 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

In the second incident, a South Windsor woman faces a variety of charges after police said she was observed running a red light, making an improper on Delavan Avenue. According to the police report, the driver also was seen drifting in the line of traffic.

Evelyn Robles, 32, who gave an address of 39 Nevers Rd., South Windsor, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to obey a stop sign, failure to signal, and failure to be fingerprinted. She was unable to post $500 bond, according to the report, and was scheduled to appear Feb. 6 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
