2 Nabbed for Driving While Intoxicated

Driving the wrong way on Greenwich Avenue is bound to catch the attention of local police.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Port Chester, NY resident Arnulfo Martinez, 44, of 8 Edison Pl., was spotted by police at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, in his car, stopped facing northbound on the southbound-only Greenwich Avenue, near Amogerone Crossway. Police said that Martinez had an odor of alcohol on his breath and admitted drinking three beers at a Port Chester bar. He also failed sobriety tests.

Martinez was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong way on a one-way street. He was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear June 21 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 64-year-old Westport woman was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge late Tuesday after Greenwich Police say they saw her driving eratically on East Putnam Avenue, near Riverside Avenue.

Tina Fronio, of 38 Franklin St., had glassy, bloodshot eyes, and appeared confused and lethargic when she was stopped by police shortly before midnight, according to a police report. She failed sobriety tests.

Unable to post $250 bond, she was held at police headquarters and scheduled to appear June 22 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A man accused of a variety of drug-related charges was arrested by Greenwich Police who obtained a warrant after he apparently did not show up for a court date.

William H. Manning, 54, of 30 Oak St., Port Chester, NY, was arrested about 12:30 a;m. Wednesday and charged with 1st-degree failure to appear in court last October. The original charges were possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal attempt to sell narcotics.

Manning was held in lieu of $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear June 22 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
