3rd Suspect Nabbed for Lux, Bond & Green Heist

Suspect waived extradition to face robbery charges for September theft of Rolex watches from Greenwich Avenue jeweler.

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft of Rolex watches during the of the Lux, Bond & Green jewelry store on Greenwich Avenue.

According to Greenwich Police, Steven Caraballo, 26, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested 10 a.m. Tuesday by detectives who obtained an arrest warrant for him. Before detectives could arrest him, Caraballo had to waive extradition from New York State where he was being detained for Greenwich Police.

Caraballo is being held on $100,000 bond set on the charges of second-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit second-degree robbery, and first-degree larceny. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 15 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Caraballo is the third suspect to be charged. The Greenwich Police Department received a call there was a robbery in progress at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 23 from Lux Bond & Green, 169 Greenwich Ave. An unarmed man reportedly took several Rolex watches from the store before leaving in a getaway vehicle which was waiting outside.

The vehicle was noticed a short time later by an off-duty Greenwich police officer, who followed the vehicle into a parking lot on Dayton Avenue near West Putnam Avenue. The suspects then fled the vehicle with the off-duty officer pursuing them on foot. While the officer was giving chase, additional officers of the Greenwich Police Department, who were combing the area, apprehended one of the suspects, a second suspect was charged a short time later.
