5th Teen Charged with Greenwich Burglary

Group accused of stealing electronics, jewelry while victims vacationed.

A fifth Greenwich teen has been arrested by Greenwich Police in connection with the theft of electronics and jewelry during the July 2011 burglary of a Willowmere Drive home while the residents vacationed.

According to Greenwich Police, the teen who was 17 when the break-in and theft occurred surrendered May 30 to investigators who obtained an arrest warrant. He is one of five teens—age 17 to 19—who have been charged in the case, according to Lt. Kraig Gray, department spokesman. With the exception of one suspect, none have bene identified because of the youthful offender status. That suspect is Robert M. Wolrterstorff, now 19, of 54 Old Stone Bridge Rd., Greenwich, who has pleaded not guilty to a larceny charge in connection with the incident, according to CT Judicial District records.

Gray would not discuss why the home was targeted. in early August and reported finding a rear window smashed and electronics and jewelry missing. He said he didn't believe any of the stolen items were recovered by investigators.

The teen who surrendered May 30 was released on a promise to appear in the Juvenile Matters Division of statee Superior Court in Stamford.
