A Child Left Behind; Weapons in a Motor Vehicle; Domestic Violence Dominate Weekend Arrests

A driver whom Greenwich Police said they pulled over because he ran a stop sign was arrested on weapons and alcohol possession charges early Monday.
Jorge Humberto Guevara 20, of 96 Atwater St., Bridgeport, was arrested about 2 a.m. by officers who said they saw him drive passed a stop sign at the intersection of Pemberwick and Monica roads.
According to a police report, Guevara told police he had a BB gun in the car which officers found on the floor near the driver’s seat. Police also found a container with BB pellets and two six-packs of Corona. Guevara was charged with possession of weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of alcohol by a minor and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was released on a $500 bond and scheduled to appear May 24 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police also said a front seat passenger, who also is 20, was drinking a bottle of Corona beer. He was ticketed for possession of alcohol.

A 15-year-old Greenwich boy was arrested about noon Friday on breach of peace and interfering with a 911 call following a domestic disturbance at a North Water Street home.
According to a Greenwich Police report, the teen is accused of getting into an argument with the unidentified juvenile victim, grabbing the victim’s arm, causing a bruise, and grabbing the phone away from the victim who tried to dial 911.
The juvenile was released pending a May 17 appearance in the Juvenile Matters division of state Superior Court in Stamford.

A woman who Greenwich Police said “unwittingly and unreasonably” left her 5-year-old child home alone while she took a second child to a music lesson, was arrested on a risk of injury to a minor charge Sunday afternoon.
Luo Zhang, 37, of 9 Sickle Bar Ln., was arrested in connection with the incident. According to a Greenwich Police report, neighbors called police to report a child screaming and crying for an extended period of time. Neighbors were caring the child when officers arrived around 4 p.m. The child was left alone for 20 to 30 minutes, according to the report.
Zhang was released on a promise to appear May 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
