The yen for preppy clothes from the likes of J Crew, Vineyard Vines and Lilly Pulitzer – apparently without paying for them – has lead to the arrest of a New Jersey woman.

According to Greenwich Police, the 29-year-old suspect, was caught after she abruptly left the Lilly Pulitzer store on Greenwich Avenue about 1:15 p.m. Monday. “The accused was observed by store personnel enter into a dressing room with merchandise the(n) rapidly exit the store and the merchandise missing,” officers wrote in their report. The officers said their investigation also yielded the recovery of “stolen proceeds from two additional Greenwich Avenue stores.”

Police said Claudia Susetty Worman, of Newton, NJ was charged with fourth-degree larceny in connection with the theft of a dress, sweater and a top from Lilly Pulitzer; and various clothing items from the other two stores. She was released after posting $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 28 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
