Argument Between Roommates Leads to Assault, Burglary Charges

The suspect is accused of kicking in her roommate's bedroom door and attacking her.

A fight between two roommates' dogs inside their apartment reportedly led to one roommate attacking the other, according to Greenwich Police.

It all began back on Jan. 28 in the roommates' Byram apartment when one roommate had to separate pair's dogs that were fighting, according to a police report. The women had a "discussion about their living situation and their respective dogs (that) resulted in (the suspect) getting upset and attempting to goad the victim into a fist fight," according to the report.

The victim apparently retreated to her bedroom and locked the door, according to the report. The suspect, identified as Angie Jaramillo, 20, of 4 Ivy St., is accused of kicking in "her roommate's bedroom door and assaulted the victim. The victim sustained minor injuries."

Police had obtained an arrest warrant charging Jaramillo with third-degree assault and third-degree burglary. But it wasn't until Jaramillo was stopped by police because her car registration had expired that she was arrested on May 4.

Jaramillo remains free on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to enter a plea on the charges when she appears June 4 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The report didn't indicate whether the pair are still roommates.
