Argument Over Woman Ends with Arrest of 2 Greenwich Men

Greenwich Police say an argument about a woman outside a downtown bar ended with the arrests of two men.

The pair apparently go into a fight just before midnight Sept. 20 outside the Sundown Saloon on Greenwich Avenue—arguing about a woman, according to police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

Adham S. Elsharkawy, 27, of 263 Milbank Ave., Greenwich, and Steven M. Piro, 31, of 70 Overlook Dr., Greenwich, were arrested in connection with the incident. Elsharkawy was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace. Piro was charged with breach of peace.

The men are accused of arguing and then getting into a fight which caused Piro to fall to the ground and Elsharkawy continuing to assault Piro, according to a police report. Piro suffered a cut and a bruise.

Both were released on promises to appear Sept. 30 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
