Arrests: Strangulation, Narcotics, DUI

Daniel W. Wall, 30, was arrested by warrant at 4 a.m. on March 14 and charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony offense, disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

He strangled someone when an argument escalated, police said.

Wall was released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police arrested Joshua J. Pires, 33, of 204 Rimmon Road, North Haven, at 1:30 a.m. March 15 and charged him with driving under the influence, having weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of narcotics, failure to keep a prescription in its original container, improper use of a license plate, driving with no insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

During a motor vehicle stop on Old Field Point Road, police found a BB gun and narcotics in the white truck Pires was driving.

He was held on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear March 22 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

Filipe Marinho, 19, of 72 Prospect Street, was arrested at 1:45 a.m. and charged with driving under the influence, operating a motor vehicle without a license and interfering with an officer.

Police said they stopped Marinho in his gray Jeep as he fled the scene of a Nearwater Lane fight. He failed field sobriety tests.

Marinho was released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear March 21 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
