Bank Robbery Suspect Strikes Greenwich Again: Chase Bank

On Thursday, Sept. 5, at 4:25p.m. Chase Bank at 137 West Putnam Ave. in Greenwich was robbed by a man with a Spanish accent who demanded cash, handing the teller a note.

Chase Bank at 137 West Putnam Ave. was robbed on Thursday, Sept. 5 at approximately 4:25p.m. by a suspect who was of medium build, anywhere from 5"4" to 5'6". He was wearing a black baseball cap with a straight brim, a gray thermal type shirt and dark pants, and was similar in appearance, stature and conduct to the suspect who robbed People's United Bank in Greenwich last week," said  Lt. Kraig Gray.

The suspect spoke to the teller in English with a strong Spanish accent and threatened to shoot the teller if the teller didn't follow his instructions and gestured toward his waistband and was given several thousand dollars, according to police.

The suspect left the bank, and no one was hurt, according to police. The suspect left the area, though a witness did observe a vehicle police believe the suspect may have been in. The witness described the car as an older dingy, black, four-door sedan, possibly with CT plates, according to police.

Police believe this is the same suspect from last week's People's Bank robbery, who is also a suspect in an Aug. 20 robbery at Wells Fargo bank in Linden, NJ
