Busted: Motorist Tried to Drive with Front Tire Missing

Greenwich Police say motorist charged with DWI after trying to leave scene of crash.

Greenwich Police responding to a report of a 2-car crash on Steamboat Road just before 10 p.m. Thursday, say they saw the motorist trying to drive away.

But the driver couldn't leave because the front passenger wheel was missing, according to Lt. Kraig Gray. The driver a 2009 BMW SUV is accused of hitting a parked 2008 Toyota SUV that was parked in front 451 Steamboat Rd. The driver had blood shot eyes and there was a smell of alcohol in his vehicle, according to the report.

After reportedly failing field sobriety tests, Daniel Flores, 24, who gave an address of 397 Boston Post Rd., Darien, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and ticketed for unsafe movement. He was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 24 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Stamford man has been arrested on 2 counts of second-degree failure to appear in court.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the man was charged by officers who were investigating a report of possible prescription fraud at Walgreens Pharmacy, 1333 E. Putnam Ave. Using the man's passport identification, police were able to determine he was named in two arrest warrants held by other unspecified departments.

Parim Vrzivoli, 31, who gave an address of 631 Fairfield Ave., Stamford, was arrested at 2 p.m., Feb. 15. He was released after posting $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Feb. 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
