Byram Sees Rash of Car Break-Ins, Thefts

Greenwich police have opened a tip line.

Greenwich police say  the west side of town saw 10 motor vehicle break-ins after dark between May 18 and June 8.

According to Greenwich police Lt. Kraig Gray, the break-ins, most of them reported in Byram, have yielded thefts of electronics such as GPS systems, cellphones and iPods.

"Fully 60 percent of the vehicles were unlocked and have been parked both on the public roadway and within the driveway," Gray said in a press release.

Residents should never leave any items of value in their cars and should always lock their cars.
