Car Burglar Busted; Teen Charged with Shoplifting

A 23-year-old Yonkers, NY woman surrendered to Greenwich Police who obtained an arrest warrant charging her with 16 counts of 3rd-degree burglary in connection with a car burglary spree last November.

Erin A. Lamedica, of 104 Durst Pl., Yonkers, surrendered Sept. 21. She also was charged with one count each of 3rd-degree larceny and 6th-degree larceny. Details on the thefts from the motor vehicles was not immediately available.

She was released after posting $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Sept. 28 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested on a 6th-degree larceny charge by Greenwich Police who said she was observed placing 17 items of unpaid merchandise into her purse before leaving the Sephora store on Greenwich Avenue.

Police said the incident occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sept. 18 and that the value of the items totaled $469. According to a police report, the teen admitted placing the items in her purse and that she "planned to leave the store without paying for the merchandise."

She was released and scheduled to appear Sept. 27 in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.
