2 more cars vandalized in Old Greenwich condo complex.

For the second and third time in two months, parts from high-end cars parked in the garage of The Gables condo complex at 51 Forest Ave. in Old Greenwich have been hijacked by thieves.

According to , the latest thefts—a set of wheels and tires from a 2011 Range Rover and side panels from a 2005 Infinity—were reported stolen on Saturday.

The Range Rover was found resting on its brake rotors—sans tires and wheels—at about 1:30 p.m., Feb. 25. Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray estimated the value of each tire and wheel to be "at least $1,000." And about 2 hours later, another resident of the complex reported that side panels from the Infinity were stolen. An value on the parts was not available.

Both cars were parked in parking garages of the complex near the .

Back on Dec. 28, another resident reported that from a Honda Accord.

Gray said he would not categorize the thefts as a trend but that given there are hundreds of cars parked in the garages "there is an opportunity" for thieves. Even if cars have alarm systems, they usually aren't activated unless there is an attempted forced entry or a major jolt to the car if it were dropped during a wheel theft, Gray said.
