Car Stolen While Customer Inside McDonald's

Car found crashed a few blocks away.

It's probably safe to say one customer wasn't loving it when he left the McDonald's restaurant on West Putnam Avenue Sunday morning.

The man, identified as a Greenwich resident, left his car running while he went inside the 268 W. Putnam Ave. restaurant about 5:30 a.m. July 1. "When he came out, the car was gone," said Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray.

The 2005 Saturn sedan was found a short time later, crashed on West Putnam Avenue near Old Post Road Number 3. "The crash disabled the vehicle," Gray said.

"We are continuing our investigation," said Gray, who would not comment on whether police were using store surveillance video to identify any suspects.
