Cars in Belle Haven Burglarized; A DWI Arrest

Greenwich Police say they are investigating the burglaries of four cars parked on Shore and Field Point roads in the Belle Haven section of town.

According to Lt. Kraig Gray, the burglaries occurred between midnight and about 6 a.m. Tuesday. The windows of some cars were broken by thieves who also targeted unlocked cars. A total of $3,000 in cash, Blackberry phone, shopping bags containing merchandise and a purse were stolen, along with credit cards, and other IDs.

A Greenwich woman was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge shortly after 11:30 p.m. Dec. 5, after a Greenwich Police reportedly saw a car weaving on East Putnam Avenue near Sound Beach Avenue Extension in Riverside.

Halina Snowball, 64, who gave an address of 47 Lafayette Pl., also was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane and unsafe movement. An officer saw her pass outside designated travel lanes, according to a police report.

Snowball was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The theft of an electronic device from a car that was being serviced at Splash Car Wash on West Putnam Avenue has lead to the arrest of a 31-year-old man.

Joseph C. Heffner, no address available, was arrested on a fifth-degree larceny charge in connection with Aug. 16 theft. Heffner was charged Nov. 22, according to a Greenwich Police report released Dec. 7. According to a police report, "at the time of the theft, Heffner was employed as a service technician" at the car wash.

He was released on a promise to appear Dec. 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
