David Harvey VP Voices 'Rage' Over Robbery, Appreciation for Support

Contrary to an earlier police report, Benjamin Roseman said that employees were not forced to the ground during the robbery.

The vice president of David Harvey Jewelers expressed "rage" Wednesday while acknowledging those who offered support after Tuesday's incident.

"We want to express our thanks to those who expressed concern over yesterday's events," Benjamin Roseman said in a statement. "Unfortunately, we can not comment any further as this is an ongoing criminal investigation."

According to , three men wearing masks barged into the store (995 Post Rd.) around 11:08 a.m. and . The trio collected multiple pieces of jewelery and watches, police said, before escaping down I-95 south in a car driven by a fourth suspect.

The value of the stolen items was not immediately known. According to police, the suspects did not display any weapons during the robbery.

Roseman said that — contrary to an earlier police statement — store employees were not forced to the ground during the robbery, but he added that "a crime is something no one wants to live through."

"Anyone who has ever been in our situation is acutely aware how it feels to be a victim of a crime.  ...  We are grateful no one from the David Harvey family was injured and I know the members of our community share our rage that crimes like this must be stopped," Roseman said.

"With the help of our security experts and through greater coordination efforts with the Darien Police Department incidents like this will be a thing of the past," Roseman added.
