Door-to-Door Solicitors Face Charges in Greenwich

Two door-to-door solicitors apparently didn't heed a warning from Greenwich Police and are now facing charges.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the two women apparently were warned by officers on June 21 to stop their door-to-door sales efforts until they obtained the proper town permits.

On Sunday afternoon, police were called to Byram Shore Road where they apparently were back to their selling ways. The women, identified as Sarita Benson, 26, and Nykia Crum, 20, both of Alabama, were arrested on charges of soliciting without a permit and illegal sales without a tax permit.

The women were released after posting $200 bond each. They're scheduled to appear June 30 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
