The real-life Singer and Actor David Hasselhoff recently tweeted that "Words cannot express how I feel at this moment. Please take a moment to say a prayer that he makes a full recovery. Thank you... David."
He also tweeted, "I am shocked & truly saddened about the Cumberland farms store clerk tragedy My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!"
Hasselhoff starred in television shows "Bay Watch," "Knight Rider" and did some musical theater, in addition to having a singing career in Europe.
The 36-year-old clerk, who worked at the gas station on River Road, was dragged while trying to stop the thieves from driving away with two of the signs at 1:15 a.m. on Aug. 20. He fell to the ground unconscious and was seizing, according to the 911 call. He also suffered a cut on his head.
He is in Bridgeport Hospital.
Shelton police said Friday that the investigation continues. No arrests have been made but the alleged driver, 19, is cooperating, police said.
