Driver Charged After Crash with Parked Car

Other Greenwich Police arrests include shoplifting and motor vehicle cases.

Greenwich Police say they saw a motorist driving erratically just before she apparently crashed her car into a Jaguar parked in the Putnam Green apartment complex on Western Junior Highway.

The incident occurred at 5:30 p.m., March 24, according to a police report released Tuesday by police. Elizabeth H. Rousso, 54, who gave an address of 27 Putnam Green, was charged with driving while intoxicated and making an improper turn. Rousso had "the odor associated with that of someone who had consumed an alcoholic beverage, had glassy eyes, and was slow to respond to ... questions," according to the report.

Rousso was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear April 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 67-year-old Greenwich woman was arrested on a sixth-degree larceny charge in connection with the Saturday afternoon theft of more than $100 of merchandise from the CVS store, 1239 E. Putnam Ave. in Riverside.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Patricia B. Vanderbes, who gave an address of 231 Palmer Hill Rd., Greenwich, is accused of being seen by store security "putting several items into a black bag and then leave the store without paying for them."

Vanderbes admitted to taking the unspecified items with an estimated value of $108, according to the report.  She was released after posting $100 bond and scheduled to appear April 2 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A man stopped by Greenwich Police after he was seen making what police described as an improper turn, is facing several motor vehicle charges.

Jesus M. Castro-Castillo, 40, who gave an adfress of 30 McKinley Ave., Bridgeport, was arrested after police saw him make an improper turn from East Putnam Avenue onto Sound Beach Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. March 27, according to a police report.

Police said motor vehicle checks revealed he did not have a icense, the license plates on the car he was driving belonged to another car, his car was unregistered and uninsured. Castro-Castillo was charged with misue of plates, no inurance, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and operating  without a license. He also received a written warning for making an improper turn.

He was held in lieu of $200 bond. His court date was unavailable.
