Driver Faces Charges in Weekend Hit-and-Run Crash

It is the second time in two months the driver was arrested on a DWI charge by Greenwich Police.


The driver of a pickup truck is facing charges he fled the scene of an accident and was driving drunk, according to a Greenwich Police report.

Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the McDonald's restaurant, 268 W. Putnam Ave. about 12:45 a.m. Dec. 7 and were told that the driver of a red pickup fled the accident scene. The driver was found driving near Old Field Point Road and stopped by officers who found he had an odor of alcohol on his breath. The driver failed field sobriety tests, according to the report, which did not indicate whether anyone was injured.

Arcangelo M. Vincoli, 58, of 15 Pheasant Ln., New Milford, was charged with driving while intoxicated, evading responsibility, no insurance and unsafe movement, acccording to the report. He was unable to post a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear Dec. 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Vincoli was arrested by Greenwich Police on Oct. 5 and charged with driving while intoxicated after he found asleep behind the wheel of a red Ford Ranger pickup parked on the sidewalk in front of 21 Holly Hill Ln., with the keys in the ignition and the vehicle running.

Records regarding the case which is scheduled for disposition on Nov. 21, 2014, have been statutorily sealed, according to the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
