Driver Faces Greenwich DWI Charge


A motorist who Greenwich Police say made an unsafe movement at the intersection of Sound Beach Avenue and Old Greenwich Lane in Old Greenwich, also was reportedly driving while intoxicated.

According to a police report, Kevin J. Middendorf, 35, of 108 Ripton Ridge, Monroe, was stopped by officers about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 15, for the unsafe movement. Officers said he had an odor of alcohol, glassy eyes, slurred speech and failed field sobriety tests.

Middendorf was charged with unsafe movement and driving while intoxicated. He was released after posting $250 bond. He was scheduled to appear Jan. 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
