Driver Faces Greenwich DWI Charge

The driver was originally stopped by Greenwich Police because his car tail lights were n't functioning.


A motorist is facing several motor vehicle charges including driving while intoxicated after he was stopped by Greenwich Police in the Byram neighborhood of town.

The driver was stopped in the 300 block of Delavan Avenue because his car tail lights were not functioning shortly after 1 a.m. April 25, according police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

According to Gray, the driver had an odor of alcoholic beverages and failed field sobriety tests. Marcel Richardson, 29, of Wyndover Lane in White Plains, NY, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to have tail lights illuminated, failure to signal and failure to carry a driver's license.

Richardson was released after posting $250 bond and scheduled to appear May 5 in State Superior Court in Stamford.
