Driving Slow + Swerving + Hitting the Curb = A DWI Arrest

Greenwich Police were flagged down by a motorist who reported a driver was swerving while driving at a slow rate of speed, and hitting the curb on East Putnam Avenue in the Cos Cob neighborhood of Greenwich.

Police found the reportedly offending driver near East Putnam and Indian Field Road about 10:40 p.m. March 10 and ended up arresting him on a driving while intoxicated charge, according to a police report.

Fray A. Cuateco-Teapila, 41, of 516 Tarrytown Rd., White Plains, NY, reportedly had "glazed, bloodshot eyes" an odor of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. Cuateco-Teapila also was ticketed with failure to drive in proper lane after officers saw him hit the curb before he was stopped by police.

Cuateco-Teapila was unable to post a $250 bond. He was scheduled to appear March 24 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
