Driving Slow Can Get You a Ticket

Driver busted for DWI after Greenwich cops stop her for driving too slow among the arrests in roundup of Greenwich Police arrests.

 

A driver on East Putnam Avenue was arrested on a driving while intoixcated charge after Greenwich Police initially stopped her for driving too slow.

According to Greenwich Police, the motorist was see driving a black Jeep "at a slow rate of speed on (North) Maple Avenue and driving erratically on East Putnam Avenue" at 8:50 p.m. Nov. 9. When she was stopped, police saw the driver had red, glassy eyes and an odor of alcoholic beverages. She also failed field sobriety tests, according to a police report.

Catherine A. Bryson, 49, of 5 Glendale St., Cos Cob, was charged with driving while intoxicated, slow speed andunsafe movement. She was held in lieu of $250 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A police spokesman would not say how slow Bryson was driving. "It was slow enough to impede traffic," said spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

A Split Timber Place resident was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge following a Nov. 10 at his home.

The 18-year-old resident was charged after Greenwich Police were called to his  home for a report of "a male threatening to harm himself with a firearm within the residence," according to a police report. "After a period of neogitations by telephone, the individual agreed to meet with police outside the residence," according to the report.

A search of the home didn't yield any weapons, according to the reports.

The man was released on a promise to appear Nov. 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A driver from Rye, NY has been arrested on charges he left the scene of an accident in downtown Greenwich about 4:20 p.m., Nov. 8.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Alair C. Moreira, 45, of 39 Grapal St., Rye, was arrested a short time after the crash at Arch Street and Horseneck Lane. Moreira was charged wtih evading responsibility, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to carry insurance and unsafe movement.

He was released after posting a $260n bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 26 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Alex J. Fusco, of Mamaroneck, NY, ws arrested Nov. 8 on a first-degree failure to appear in court charge.

The charge stems from his arrest in May on disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation charges, according to a Greenwich Police report. Fusco was arrested in Brooklyn, NY. 

His bond was set at $2,500 and he was scheduled to appear Nov. 15 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Seems to me you are missing the most obvious which is shown in the photo used at the top ofRead More Greenwich Patch pages - Grass Island Marina/Park is directly across the waterway. You won't be able to see much of the stage front but you can certainly enjoy the tunes.
