Drug & Burglary Charges in Unusual Greenwich Cases

Women face drug charges; man faces burglary charge.

Greenwich Police assisting Greenwich Emergency Medical Service ended up arresting two women — including the patient — on drug-related charges.

Greenwich Police say that two women were arrested in connection with a medical call on Rodwell Avenue shortly after noon Dec. 8.

According to a police report, an officer at the scene re-entered a residence to find the patient in a scuffle with GEMS staff and trying to retrieve something from a nightstand drawer. It was determined that Stephanie Zea, 20, who gave an address of 44 Rodwell Ave., Greenwich, had "a glass smoking pipe with suspected marijuana residue and a small baggy that contained suspected marijuana inside, 4 pink/orange round pills ... and 1/2 of a white oval pill" inside the drawer.

Police said that found another woman in the home and that after talking with Zea's mother they determined that the woman was banned from the home. Lyric Civitella, 21, who gave an address of 87A Willowbrook Ave., Stamford, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple trespass, after police said they found a plastic bag with a green leafy substance, a mini beer can grinder with marijuana residue and package with wrappers inside her purse.

Zea was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics Both were released on written promises to appear Dec. 16 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A passenger in a car stopped by Greenwich Police whose driver allegedly didn't use a turn signal, was arrested on burglary charges.

According to Greenwich Police, the car's driver was stopped shortly before 6:30 p.m., Dec. 8 after turning onto the entrance ramp of Interstate 95 from Ritch Avenue. Police checked the identity of the car's passenger and found there was an arrest warrant for him charging him with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

The passenger was identified as Sean Welch, 40, who gave an address of 4 Willow St., Port Chester, NY. He is accused of entering a former girlfriend's apartment on Bertolf Road after being warned by her and police he was no longer welcome in the apartment. Police said he took a mask from the apartment and used his cell phone to send photographs to the ex-girlfriend of items he had taken from the apartment. He also is accused of disturbing the woman's undergarments, according to police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.

Welch was released after posting $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 28 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The driver, identfied as Carleathea Clarke, age and address not given, was issued a written warning for failure to use turn signal.
