DWI, Domestic Violence Arrests

Greenwich Police are investigating the Monday afternoon burglary of a Clapboard Ridge Road home.

Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said a resident returned home about 3:40 p.m. to find the home ransacked. There weren’t any signs of forced entry by the thieves who took an undetermined amount of jewelry and “small portable items,” Gray said.

An Old Mill Road resident was arrested on several charges following a domestic violence incident at her home late Monday.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the 47-year-old suspect “exhibited obvious signs of intoxication” and had pushed a nine-year-old child to the floor and “a 15-year-old victim out of the residence physically and locked him out of the house.”  When the two children locked themselves in an upstairs bathroom, the suspect reportedly threatened to kill them.

The suspect was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor, in connection with the 11 p.m. incident. She was released on a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Seitz Lane resident was arrested Monday afternoon on third-degree assault and disorderly conduct charges stemming from a domestic violence incident.

According to Greenwich Police, Mark Pelazza, 21, is accused of throwing a container of face cleaner, striking the victim’s face., causing swelling and redness during the 1:45 p.m. incident.

Pelazza was held in lieu of $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Mamaroneck, NY man faces motor vehicle charges including drunken driving  after Greenwich Police say they found him in a car parked on Ritch Avenue, facing oncoming traffic and the headlights turned off.

Edward Murray Jr., 26, of 412 Munro Ave., Mamaroneck, is accused of having slurred speech, glassy eyes and the odor of alcoholic beverages when officers found him shortly after 4 a.m. Monday. According to a police report, he also failed field sobriety charges.

Murray was charged with driving while intoxicated, improper parking and failure to have lights lit and devices illuminated. He was released on a $250 bond and scheduled to appear April 18 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
