Ex-boyfriend Faces Kidnapping, Assault Charges

A man has been arrested on charges he stalked, kidnapped and assaulted a former girlfriend over the weekend, according to Greenwich Police.

The man is accused of laying in wait outside the Windy Knolls Drive residence of the former girlfriend who ignored text messages from the suspect. Diego A. Chica, 26, of 228 William St., Port Chester, NY, is accused placing the woman in "a double armed bear bug and dragging her to his car," said police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray. The incident was reported at 5:30 a.m. May 11.

"She's yelling, Screaming. He doesn't allow her to leave. He drives around the block ... She tooting the horn trying to get attention," Gray said. After about 20 minutes, the commotion was heard by the victim's mother and a neighbor. Chica fled the area, leaving the victim with bruises and a torn dress.

Chica surrendered to officers at police headquarters later that day and was charged with third-degree stalking, third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace, second-degree kidnapping and first-degree unlawful restraint.

Chica could not post $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear May 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
