A man formerly involved in businesses in Greenwich and New Canaan, is facing a charge he violated a restraining order.
James Dadio, 44, who gave an address of Stevens Avenue in Norwalk, was arrested after a Greenwich Police officer spotted him leaving the state Superior Court house building on Hoyt Street in Stamford on Jan. 17, according to a Greenwich Police report.
The officer and a partner, who were at the court house for an unrelated matter, were aware of an arrest warrant charging Dadio with criminal violation of a restraining order that was signed by a judge Jan. 8.
The charge stems from a Dec. 26, 2013 incident on Doubling Road. According to Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray, on Dec. 18, 2013, the victim was granted a lifetime restraining order prohibiting Dadio from contacting her and her children.
The officer arrested Dadio after he exited the court house. He was held in lieu of $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear Jan. 21 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
Dadio was in court Jan. 17 where he has several cases pending, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website. He has pleaded not guilty to several other charges regarding violation of a restraining order obtained by a former girlfriend, threatening and harassment. The Judicial Branch records did not indicate when Dadio is to return to court on the pending charges.
