Father, Son Arrested for Domestic Dispute; 2 Greenwich Cops Injured

A domestic dispute ended with a father and son being arrested on a variety of charges including assaulting police officers who responded to the Monday evening dispute at the Armstrong Court apartment complex.

Just before 6 p.m. Monday, Greenwich Police were called by a female vicitim who reported an argument with one suspect, identified by police as Orlando Pasto Sr.,  who pushed her to the ground. According to police, when the unidentified responding officer tried to stop and question Pasto, 50, he began to assault the officer. “Pasto continued to violently resist additional responders on the scene, causing minor, non-life-threatening injuries to two officers,” according to a Greenwich Police statement.

The scene outside the apartment complex on Hamilton Avenue, apparently caused “an alarming disturbance.,” according to the police statement. Pasto’s son, Orlando Pasto Jr. was arrested after he tried to prevent police from handcuffing his father, according to the statement.

Pasto Sr. was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer; and one count each of  2nd-degree breach of peace and disorderly conduct. He was held in lieu of $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The 18-year-old son was charged with interfering with an officer and released on a promise to appear July 18 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Police said the injured officers were treated for cuts and bruises.
