Fight Leads to Arrest of Town Man

Greenwich Police also investigate thefts from Richards, cars and credit card fraud.

An argument between two men in a Milbank Avenue apartment has lead to the arrest of a Greenwich man, according to Greenwich Police,

David B. Herman, 45, who gave an address of 246 Milbank Ave., Greenwich, was arrested Sunday in connection with the argument that ended with the victim being punched in the face, according to a police report.

Herman was charged with third-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor because the March 11 incident occurred in the presence of the victim's 8-year-old child, police said.

Herman was released after posting a $500 bond and scheduled to appear March 19 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

At least 2 thieves smashed through a rear door of Richards of Greenwich, the high-end clothing boutique at 359 Greenwich Ave.

An unspecified amount of "items" were taken from the store, according to Greenwich Police. Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said the theft was discovered shortly before 2 a.m. March 11. He also said they are investigating a store surveillance video for information.

Gray did not say what was taken. He said at least 2 suspects may have been involved.

Greenwich Police say they are investigating the theft of more than $500 worth of clothing and electronic devices from a car parked on Sherman Avenue.

The theft was reported shortly after 4 a.m. March 10.
