Four Drivers Face Driving While Intoxicated Charges


Four motorists are facing driving while intoxicated charges, the result of stepped up holiday enforcement of drunk driving laws by Greenwich Police.

Here are the arrests, according to Greenwich Police reports:

  • Brian P. Healy, 25, of 43 Orchard Pl., Greenwich, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. Dec. 28 after officers saw him turn from Railroad Avenue onto Arch Street against a red light signal. Healy is accused of having an odor of alcohol and red, glassy eyes and failing field sobriety tests. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to obey a traffic control signal. He was released after posting a $260 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
  • A driver accused of coming to an abrupt halt at a stop sign in Byram and failing to dim his vehicle's high beams was charged with driving while intoxicated and improper use of high beams. According to a police report, Edgar Valdovinos, 23, of 455 N. Main St., Port Chester, NY, was arrested at 3:50 A.M. Dec. 27. He's accused of having red, glassy eyes, having an odor of alcohol and failing field sobriety tests. He was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 10 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
  • Shortly after 4 a.m. Dec. 29, Melvin E. Caballero, 28, of 79 Cove Rd., Stamford, was arrested on several charges after officers saw his vehicle cross the double yellow line on Delavan Avenue in Byram, and not use a turn signal when he turned onto the Exit 2 on-ramp of I-95. Caballero is accused of having red, glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol and failing field sobriety tests. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating without a license, failure to use a turn signal and operating without insurance. He was released after posting $250 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford. 
  • Bruce Kiley, 58, of 323 Riverside Ave., Riverside, was charged with driving while intoxicated and unsafe movement after an officer following him observed "erratic movements" by the driver. Kiley is accused of having the smell of alcohol on his breath when stopped just before 6 p.m. Dec. 30, and failing field sobriety tests. He was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
